In the portal, data is stored in various entities described below.
Organization
An organization is the central element in the portal, and all other entities are connected to it in some way. In most cases, an organization represents a company, and its employees using the portal are linked as users. There can also be one or more Service Providers and Network Providers associated with the organization. Password Policies are set for the organization, and these policies apply to all users within the organization.
User
Each user account should be personal and not shared between different users. Each user is associated with one organization as either an employee or consultant. New users within an organization are created by User Admin or Organization Admin.
Sensor
A sensor, also known as a meter or IoT device, communicates via LoRaWAN with gateways. It is owned by a Service Provider, which also pays for LoRaWAN Subscriptions to communicate within the network.
Gateway
A gateway is a network device that plays a crucial role in a LoRaWAN Network. It serves as a bridge between sensors and the LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS). It is owned by a Network Provider, which also pays for Gateway licenses to communicate within the network.
Service Provider
Service Providers own sensors and their data. For each sensor, a monthly LoRaWAN Subscription fee is paid if the sensor has been provisioned during the previous month. Additionally, if agreed upon, a Service Provider has the option to distribute LoRaWAN subscriptions to other Service Providers. In this case, Netmore only needs to have an agreement with the distributor and not with each Service Provider connected to the distributor.
Network Provider
Network Providers own, install, and manage gateways. Gateway Licenses are paid monthly for gateways that have been provisioned during the previous month. Additionally, if agreed upon, a Network Provider has the option to distribute Gateway licenses to other Network Providers.
Customer
Sensors can be categorized under different Customers to control access for different users. When using a Customer, sensors will be linked to both a Service Provider and a Customer. Users with access to the Service Provider will have access to all sensors, whether there is a customer linked or not. Users with access to the Customer will only have access to the sensors linked to that Customer.
Hierarchy
Below, we explain how Service Provider and Network Provider are connected to Organization. Each Service Provider and Network Provider can only be linked to one Organization, but an Organization can have multiple Service Provider and Network Provider connected.
User can only belong to one Organization, and Gateway are always linked to one Network Provider. Sensor are connected to Service Provider but can also be categorized under different Customer to control access for different User. User can be connected to Network Provider for access to Gateway and connected to Service Provider and/or Customer for access to Sensor.
